God is at work all around us, inviting us to join Him where he’s already working. Sign us up! For us responding to God means we must first have an intimate relationship with him so that we hear him when He speaks. That’s why we are serious about living as students of scripture, praying continuously, and pursuing Godly council. As Galatians 2:20 says, we truly believe it is not about us anymore. If you crave to know more about God and how He affects you and what you need to be doing, then Upward may be just the place for you.

Because we value the life of integrity, the Upward culture is Reliable.

It’s in our relationship with Jesus that we find our unity to pursue the Upward mission. We’re in this together and we need every member of the team. We believe that Jesus Christ is our character model and that He wants to transform each one of us into his likeness. So, we watch what we say, how we say it, and we consider others first before we speak. We will disagree, but not so others will see that we’re right or to get our own way. We are not looking for perfect people. However, we do expect each team member to pursue reconciliation, redemption, and personal accountability.

Because we value the discipline of excellence, the Upward culture is Encouraging.

Whatever we set our hands to we do so in service to Jesus Christ. He is our example! We are servants willing to go the extra mile for each other. We don’t approach an opportunity with a “what’s in it for me” attitude. Instead, we look for the greater good of those on the team. We gladly lay down our selfishness in order to build up others. We believe the better we serve each other, the better we are able to serve our ministry partners. If you are not concerned with climbing the corporate ladder, or carrying a fancy title Upward Unlimited may be a great fit for you! If service as we describe it does not fit who you are, Upward may not be the right place for you.

Because we value the priority of children, the Upward culture is Fun.

We are racing against the influences of this world to capture the hearts of children with the good news of the gospel. We can’t afford to approach this task with a passive response: we are active. For us, this is fun! We will try new ideas. If they don’t work, we’ll try more. If we’re not changing, we’re not being proactive and that is not acceptable because of the priority we place on children. This process can frustrate the wrong person, but for the right person this is absolutely energizing.
